Accommodation

You’ll feel safe and snug in your own bedroom at St Mary’s. All rooms have been recently renovated, providing warmth, comfort and security. What’s more, unlike some of the other Colleges, all the bedrooms are the same, so you don’t have to endure your first year in a cramped room while you’re working your way up the ranks.

Each room is accessed via a unique security card, and is fitted with:

Its own sink, with both hot and cold water (this means you can brush your teeth, refill your kettle or grab a glass of water, all without leaving the warmth of your room);

A king single bed (106 cm x 203 cm), mattress and mattress protector;

Study desk and chair;

Built-in wardrobe;

Large overhead locking cupboard;

Adjustable hydronic heating;

Blinds and curtains;

Tinted double glazed glass with crimsafe screen;

Free WiFi

Home away from home

Once you bring your own doona cover, cushions and photos from home, it will soon feel familiar and personal. You’ll also need to bring your own bed linen, which can be washed in the laundry facilities. The cleaners will service your room weekly, so that’s one less thing for you to do.

You’ll quickly get to know all the other residents on your floor at College. There’s a very informal culture of chatting in corridors, plus organised events such as floor dinners. And even though you share a bathroom with other floor residents, there’s rarely a queue for morning showers. In fact, it’s probably quicker than waiting for your siblings to finish in the bathroom.

Floor Mentors

Naturally, you’ll have questions about College life, especially in the early days. To help you out, each floor has a mentor – a senior student who’s been through it all before and has been selected for their approachability and friendliness. They’ll happily answer your questions and point you in the right direction.
